Little Acorns Learning

Still curious? Reach out — we are happy to walk through the details.

What happens to my child on a wet or windy day?

We go outside in most weather, so please send a waterproof coat and wellies. When conditions turn unsafe, the session moves into our covered shelter or inside the setting, and staff follow the same routines.

What should my child wear and bring to a session?

Send them in clothes that can get muddy, with a waterproof coat, wellies and a spare set in a named bag. We keep spare waterproofs on site, and we ask you to label everything clearly.

What are your staff to child ratios outdoors?

We follow the ratios set for early years care, with additional adults on hand for woodland walks and tool activities. Every session has a named lead practitioner who holds a current paediatric first aid certificate.

How do you handle allergies, medical needs and medication?

You complete an allergy and health form before your child starts, and we agree a care plan for anything ongoing. Staff are trained to spot the signs, and medication is stored securely and given only with your written consent.

Can we visit before we decide whether to book?

Yes. We offer a settling visit so you can meet the team, walk the site and see a session in progress. It helps you judge whether the setting suits your child before you commit to a place.

How do I know how my child's day has gone?

We speak with you at pick-up and share brief written updates about sleep, meals and what your child explored. If anything needs more discussion, a member of the team will arrange a longer conversation with you.

We reply within two working days, and asking costs you nothing.
