What happens on a typical day at your forest school nursery?
Children spend most of the session outdoors, whatever the weather. They dig, climb, build, plant and explore the woods. Indoors we have a warm base for snacks, rest and quiet activities. Every day follows a steady rhythm, so your child knows what comes next.
What ages do you take, and what are your opening hours?
We care for children from two to five years old. Sessions run on weekday mornings and afternoons, with full-day places available. Exact times and term dates are confirmed when you enquire, as they can change between terms.
What should my child wear and bring to a forest school session?
Warm layers, waterproofs and wellies are ideal. We ask you to send a full change of clothes and a named water bottle. In colder months, hats and gloves help. We can advise on kit if you are unsure what to buy.
How do I register my child and what does it cost?
Start by sending us an enquiry through the contact page. We will invite you to visit, talk through sessions and give you our current fee sheet. A registration form and deposit secure your place once you decide to go ahead.
How do you keep children safe outdoors, especially near tools or fires?
Staff hold current paediatric first aid certificates. We carry out daily site checks before children arrive. Children only use tools and approach the fire circle under close adult supervision, and ratios follow the early years requirements for their age.
Who looks after my child, and what training do your staff have?
Our team holds early years qualifications and forest school training. Every member of staff has an enhanced DBS check. We keep group sizes small so each child gets attention, and you will meet your child's key person before they start.
